Minister of Culture appeals to support our young artists's talent to achieve more Grammy Awards

Panama, November 23, 2020 -The Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro emphasized that one of the aims with the creation of the Ministry of Culture, is to support the talent of our young musicians so that they can gain international awards, thus highlighting the excellent work of Panamanian Rubén Blanes who earned the Best Tropical Song Award at the 21st edition of the Latin Grammy.
Aguilar Navarro, mentioned that this Latin Grammy prize is a demonstration of all the talent and courage, strength and cultural contribution that exists in our country by all citizens. From border to border, from Darién to Bocas del Toro, perhaps there are many talented young people such as Reuben Blades, Danilo Pérez, Erika Ender, Omar Alfano, among other icons of music, remind us that now that we have a Ministry of Culture we can develop more and promote the talent of all those Panamanian children who have an opportunity to gain from these things to gain their power.
These artists that have been rewarded on numerous occasions have become models to be followed for new national talents, hopefully we can work with them all, with private company because this isn't just a matter of government but of society at large, added the highest national cultural authority.
The Minister of Culture points out that the support we give our artists, not only money but also spiritual and moral support, is to accompany them and to make their songs famous, and that's why other things we want to achieve are that our youth have to leave Panama to achieve these great things, we want to have many prizes as those of Reuben Blades and that's achieved with a society that sees that right to culture as part of their human rights.
We as a Cultural Ministry once again congratulate the Panamanian singer, Rubén Blades for his triumph at the Latin Grammy 2020 with "Song for Ruben," in the category of "Best Tropical Song," which was recorded with Colombia's Carlos Vives and once we demand that we support plans and projects to highlight the artistic talent of our generations.
