The Ministry of Culture of Panama supports the first edition of the Moon Fest Ancestral Culture, a festival that will celebrate the wealth of Oriental and Asian cultures on April 12 and 13 at the Convent of the nuns of the Conception of the Archaeological Site of Old Panama.

The event will be held from 5: 00 p.m. to 11: 00 p.m., offering an immersive experience that combines tradition, art, gastronomy and fashion.

Countries such as Turkey, India, Morocco, Indonesia and several Arab nations will have outstanding participation and their contribution to Panamanian culture.

"The Moon Fest Ancestral Culture aims to consolidate itself as a platform for exploring these rich traditions through gastronomy, art, dance and traditional markets, generating a positive impact on the economy of artisan and entrepreneurs," remarked Enrique Sánchez, general director of the event.

Veronica Arosemena, Director of International Technical Cooperation at the Ministry of Culture, emphasized the importance of the festival to promote mutual understanding and intercommunal union and to become a bridge of intercultural and internation connections.

The festival, aimed at public of all ages, offers an unforgettable experience. The guests will enjoy an extensive gastronomic offer by entrepreneurs who will be presenting traditional sauces from their countries of origin. Also, a fashion walk will be held with renowned designers such as José Díaz, Jaime Luna, Jochebebec and Miva Designs, who will be exhibiting creations inspired by beaches, motias and Indian fashion.

The Moon Fest will also include a number of interactive activities, including a Mario Kart tournament, organized by The Cat Cave Gaming, with prizes such as hotel stays, catamaran tours and beach houses with pTY-safety travel.

A collection of tickets will also be made to Istanbul, courtesy of Turkish Airlines. Cultural and folk presentations will also be held at the Panama Canal Folk Ballet, the Nuestra Señora de Lourdes College, the Leyla Salam Academy (Arab dances) and Panama Flamenzo (Spanish dances). A children's area and interactive experiences will be available for families as a whole.

The event was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Turkish Airlines, Mega Travel and Sandals Hotels.

It should be noted that this is a 100% cultural festival and some of the funds will be dedicated to social programs of the Islamic Foundation of Panama. With this initiative, Panama strengthens its position as a crucible of dynamic cultures and tourist destination, promoting diversity and cultural integration.
