MiCultura recognizes 20 teachers for their excellence in teaching arts and folklore

The Herbert De Castro auditorium, located at the City of the Arts, first recognized the work and efforts of more than 20 teachers and directors of Fine Arts and Folklore schools at the national level. That tribute emphasized his excellence and dedicated work as part of the celebration of Master's Day.
During the event, scrolls of recognition were given to the teachers who have been outstanding in their respective regions and provinces, contributing significantly to the world of art and promoting their students' talent in disciplines such as singing, theater, plastic arts, painting, dance and music.
The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, congratulated the teachers and welcomed them again to the Ministry of Culture.
"We get them excited and motivated by the great projects we are called to conduct in defence of our culture and our identity," she said.
He also emphasized the importance of educational work in the artistic sphere "The vocation to teach is our apostolate. as educators of the arts, we are called to contribute to the development of human talent and to enhance the capabilities that are an inherent part of each soul," he added.
The event was attended by the deputy ministers of culture, Arianne Benedetti, and the national director of artistic education, Aaron Shocrón and other national directors of MiCultura and authorities of the Ministry of Education. They all reaffirmed their commitment to work together to strengthen the teaching and development of arts and folklore in the country.
Currently, Panama has 23 centers and institutes dedicated to teaching arts and folklore, with an essential role to play in the preservation and promotion of cultural identity.
It should be noted that, recently, President José Raúl Mulino passed Act No. 455 of 15 November 2024 amending Act No. 175 of 2020, and that the high educational and technical institutes of Fine Arts and Folklore, previously attached to the Ministry of Education (Meduca), have been brought back into the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and have been established to preserve and promote their cultural heritage.
