Panama, October 2, 2020 -The National Government through the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), jointly with the Tourism Authority (ATP) and the Mayor's Office of Panama (MUPA), launches the "Plan for Reactivation of the Casco Antiguo," with the intention to attract as many people and to activate the economy at the different shops and restaurants that are at the historic centre of the city.
More than 78 restaurants and cafes will be open with a gastronomic variety, with an outdoor table meeting with biosecurity measures and keeping them apart, with free cultural presentations in the different squares and open spaces of Casco Antiguo.
That plan starts with cultural activations from Thursday to Saturday that includes presentations by artists and outdoor singers, pampering show, magic and circus circuit so families have a family time and cultural tours at museums and colonial churches.
Fernando Díaz, director of the office of the Casco Antiguo at the Ministry of Culture, explained that there will be an economic reactivation plan with biosecurity measures, that the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and for this, the national government's work team are bringing with them all the hospitality shops among them, restaurants and cafes in a common strategy, respecting the intertidal tipulations.
"The shops are ready to welcome Casco Antiguo visitors with best confidence, so that the family will enjoy the rich history we have at our historic centre and have a wonderful evening," Diaz added.
It became clear that the streets will be pedestrian from 4: 00 to 11: 00 p.m. and will be available to the public and will be at the disposal of the public, the parking areas located at Plaza V. Centenario, behind Banistmo at the height of Plaza Herrera and at the side of the National Theater, added Diaz
The presentations are free and will be held from Thursday to Saturday at 4: 00 p.m. to 10: 00 p.m. and will be as follows:
- Thursday 1 octobre -6 pm- Show Circense- Plaza Herrera.
- Friday 2nd of octobre -7: 15 pm-Theater productions Neverland.
8: 15pm.Piazza Bolívar.Recital of lyric voices.
- Saturday 3 octobre -7: 00 p.m. -School of Mexico Louge by DJ Fiti X.
8: 00 p.m. Magic Show St. Anne's Square.
"To the Government this represents a pilot plan that, if a success, was replicated in other spaces of Panama City," stated Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Minister of Culture.
