MiCultura and FAE Foundation sign training and development agreement

Panama, September 29, 2020 -The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the Fundación Pro Artes Escénicas and Audiovisual (FAE) signed an agreement for the development of projects from the online platform of the 13th Icaro Panama Film Festival as well as the support and dissemination of film update workshops and the development of a program to promote Audiovisual memory.

Correspondado al Ministro de Cultura, Carlos Aguilar Navarro, junto con Enrique King, presidente de la Fundación FAE firma el documento que purtian roma y aplicar por manera virtual a los creatorias cinesóncias con exhibitaciones especializas y capacitaciones a través de platforms y aplicaciones de internet con el fin de provoke la debate y la traffic tielónica y páctico entre los participantes del festival Icaro Panama online.

For the Ministry of Culture it's important to support festivals that distinguish our cinema as well as the promotion and protection of the cultural expressions of Panama and Central America, said Minister Aguilar Navarro.

Through an partnership with the GECU Training and Training Centre at the University of Panama, five online workshops will be held to improve, deepen or start with a particular technique, through a fellowship plan that will give the guild the best use given the current health situation that our country is currently undergoing.

The project to promote audiovisual memory will be followed up with recovery processes and with a view to curbing the degradation of film material at risk at the University Film Experimental Group (GECU), with more than three hundred challenges in destructive chemical processes and with its urgent cleanliness, inventory and preservation, so as to be able to get into the main vault and to guarantee more durability.

With the signing of the convention, MiCultura reaffirms the primordial importance of these projects that strengthen the Panamanian audiovisual heritage and calls on other public or private institutions to join with their efforts to promote activities that rescue the audiovisual memory of the country.
