To plan a route for the conduct of consultative workshops at national level within the framework of the Central American Coordination of Education and Culture (CECC) are part of the principles of the Ministry of Culture of Panama, who through the National Directorate for Cultural Rights and Citizenship aims to put in place a clear and organized strategy to gather opinions, suggestions and proposals from different actors involved in the educational and cultural field.

At this first meeting, the parties agreed to collect information and views to identify educational and cultural needs, challenges and opportunities in decision-making, while ensuring that their voices are heard and considered in the formulation of policies and programmes.

Carmen Contreas, a sociologist from MiCultura, stated that these workshops are to get inputs necessary for the design of a Regional Policy for the Promotion and Protection of artists and professionals from the SICA Region, inputs that will in turn serve us to develop our national policy.

"These workshops have improved co-ordination and cooperation among Central American countries with regard to education and culture and have been promoting joint initiatives and projects," said Contreras.
