The Minister of Culture, Maruja Herrera, attended the Act of Jury and Establishment of the Commission of Education, Culture and Sport for 2024- 2025. The ceremony, held at the auditorium of the National Assembly, marked the start of what is expected to be a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the Commission. During the event, deputy Lilia Batista as president, deputy Gertrudis Rodriguez as vice president and deputy Isaac Mosquera as secretary were sworn.

Minister Herrera emphasized the importance of synergy between them and emphasized that integrating culture, education and sport into a cohesive framework of public policies was essential for the comprehensive development of Panamanian society.

The honourable president of the commission, Lilia Batista, expressed that this entity's mission will be to promote learning, preserve and promote Panama's cultural traditions and create a legal framework that promotes different sports disciplines.
The Commission also includes deputies Miguel Ángel Campos, Ariana Choba, Jorge Bloise, Paulette Thomas, Nixon Andrade and Yuzaida Marín.

The Ministry of Culture reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable development of the national cultural sector and welcomes this partnership that promise to strengthen Panama's cultural, educational and sports bases.
