MINISTRA DE CULTURA MARUJA HERRERA REUNES WITH CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS TO DIALOGAR ON THE TRANSIST COLONIAL RULES

To promote transparency and constructive dialogue, the Minister of Culture, Maruja Herrera, has held a number of meetings with several civil society groups interested in the proposal for The Transitory Colonial Route. These meetings reflect the commitment of the Ministry of Culture to listen and consider the concerns and inputs of all concerned.
During the meetings, Minister Herrera emphasized the responsibility of the ministry with respect to international commitments "as a Ministry, we will be responsible for the commitments we will gain internationally," she emphasized. He also emphasized the importance of the active participation of all actors to preserve and protect the authenticity and cultural integrity of the country.
Civil society groups that participated in the discussions include the Old Panama Association, the Panamanian Society of Engineers and Architects (SPIA), the National Association for Conservation of Nature (ANCON) and the Association of Neighbors and Friends of Casco Antiguo (AVACA), among others. Following these meetings, the training of cross-sectional workshops was agreed to strengthen the documentation required by the UNESCO.
"The clarifications that have been given have been very useful. We understand the position of the Ministry of Culture and share its aims," said Julieta de Arango, President of the Board of the Old Panama Archaeological Site.
Ing. Alfonso Pinzzo of SPIA also expressed his support for Panama's stance on this important project and emphasized that its success will have a significant impact on a number of challenges that will benefit our country at an international level.
The Ministry of Culture reaffirms its commitment to work closely with civil society and all interested parties to ensure that the proposal of The Transitory Colonial Route faithfully reflects its historic and cultural value, ensuring its protection and promotion for future generations.
