On June 12, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) with the SOS Albino Foundation awarded 14-year-old Agar Smith from Guna Yala and Axel Villarreal from 14 years old but from St. Miguelito's District and 12-year-old Angie Jiménez from Tucumen, the first, second and third place respectively from the third edition of the "Mother Earth" drawing contest.

A total of 36 works have been received, with children and youth from 8 to 14 years old and outstanding in their drawings recreate different landscapes filled with color, verdor and love for nature, sending a message about what actions we have to conduct to care for, protect and preserve the benefits that Mother Earth offers us.

The artistic contest referred to in the Cultural Cooperation Convention between MiCultura and the Fundación SOS Albinos aims to promote between Panamanian children and youth, using art as a tool, care for our ecosystem and the importance that nature has to preserve life on planet earth.

To select the winners, the jury was composed of visual artists Gabriel González, Indira Edwards and Nilka Batista who evaluated them with criteria such as message, technique, composition, colorful and theme.

Gabriel González, representing the Jury, emphasized the great talent expressed by the children and youth who gave up their jobs, indicating that this indicates the future they wish for our country.

While Akeban Velarde, president of the SOS Albinos Foundation of Panama expressed his gratitude for the support of the Ministry of Culture to conduct this contest and to support the initiatives that this organization conduct.
