With the participation of the American director Nell Flanders and the Panamanian solo player from French Corno, Alberto Lin as special guests, the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) gave a presentation this Wednesday at the Balboa Theater, celebrating his 83-year creation.

The program included the performance of composer Chopin under an orchestra arrangement by Aleksandr Glazunov, as well as the French Corno and Orchestra Concert, Richard Strauss's op.1 No. 11 and Jean Sibelius's Fifth Symphony, among others.

The guest director, Flanders, emphasized for this concert the compositions of Strauss and Sibelius as the most important performances of the concert, "The Fifth Symphony is within the most important works for orchestras but had not been interpreted by this group," she stated.

He also highlighted the concerts performed by the OSN as "an opportunity to enjoy the music and celebrate the work that musicians are performing in this orchestra."

The orchestra's concert season will continue with performances throughout the year, including the "Anniversary Concert" of the institution next 30 and 31 May, as well as the "La Malia de Dvoka" concert that belonged to June.

On 27 May 1941, under the supervision of Herbert de Castro and with the support of the National Government, the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) was established and has since been offering numerous interpretations of compositions of a universal character for the national and international public.
