The Festivals of Reading and Thought, an activity and run by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the Ministry of Education and other entities were held at an activity with children of different ages at the Playa Chiquita School in La Chorro.

Theater works, traditional games, poetry workshops, animation and dance and talks to manage emotions from the power of the word, directed by consultant Daniela Morillo were some of the activities that participants enjoyed.

During the event, children had their first interplay with reading and were inculcated with an interest in books with messages that referred to the book and creative slogans for children and adults to leave their thoughts.

To create actions to promote reading in communities and to promote their tastes and ideas in an atmosphere of peaceful co-existence, the small people of the community had an opportunity to get into the world of interpretation and imagination generated by the books.

The event was advanced in an alliance with the Mayor of La Chorro, the National Aeronaval Service, the Junta Communal de Playa Chiquita, the Hortensio de Icaza Library, the Carlos Francisco Changmarín Foundation and volunteers who held recreational workshops.
