The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) awarded twelve national cinematographic productions divided into four categories: feature fiction and animation, production of documentaries, production support for feature and documentary production after production and development of projects with a sum of $2.5 million distributed among all projects.

In the Félix Guardia's feature film and animation category, the winners were at first place, Ana Elena Tejera with Fictizo Culebra. The second best-noted project was Félix Guardia's Toro Volandero animation project. The third place for Jonathan Alvarez with the feature film Chichero, who were awarded with 600 thousand dollars each. In this category the law allows the jury to award a fourth prize that was for Melanie Vizuete with the project "La residencia," who became a prize of 400 thousand dollars.

The winners in order of importance were Ivan Jaripio with the documentary Dadjira, Tatiana Salamín with El Legado de Reina and Ángel Corro with the production Pure R.A.P, each received 100,000 dollars.

In terms of selection in the production support category of feature films and documentaries at the post production stage, the Jury failed to favor only two projects, that of Miriam Pons with the Luminoso Escacio Salvaje and Luis Carlos García with the Danza with Densan project, each will receive B /. 25000.00.

The three chosen in the Project Development category were Nick Romano with Chupada at Chanis and Nayita Adames Benitez with Pacora and Ana Endara with The Falling Girl and other protests, who received $15,000 each, and all these inputs come from Fondo Cine's MiCultura.

The Jury that had the task to review and give its decision in favor of the projects submitted, was composed of Joanna Lombardi of Peruvian nationality, Sebastian Freud of Chile, Juan Crespo of Argentina who evaluated the category of fiction and animation, while for the production category of documentaries were Paula Astorga of Portugal and Maria Elena Wood of Chile.

Meanwhile for the category support production of feature films and documentaries at the post production stage they participated as Jury Consuelo Castillo de Colombia and Gustavo Corrado of Argentina and for the category of Project Development, evaluated Marina Stavenhagen of Mexico and Víctor Gaviria of Colombia.

The Minister, Giselle González Villarrué, recognized the work of each of them who submitted projects to become a creditor to the Fondo Cine awards and invited them to continue their efforts to "soon have an international prize."

"The emotion embarks me in a special way, I thank the high-end jury that did an extraordinary job and I wish to mention that I recently signed an update of the regulations of the film law, which should be in the office of the President of the Republic and so I invite them to continue to work to strengthen this industry added González Villarrué.

For his part, Sheila González, director of DICINE stated that "the Ministry of Culture is betting that new talents can be developed and that our industry will continue to grow, as it guarantees an increasing interest in the audiovisual field with public policies that Panama has and with this type of contribution as Fondo Cine."

For this call 2023, the National Cinema Office (Dicne) of MyCultura received 90 projects, which met all the requirements established at the bases of the contest, of which 26 projects with a feature film of fiction, an animation project, 11 documentaries, three after production and 49 projects that were evaluated by nine jurors, all international filmmakers with an important and extensive track record.
