With the participation of more than 800 children and youth from different schools and corrections to the Colmena Plan, the 5th Festival of Children and Youth Literature was held at La Ciudad de Las Artes.

The children's book festival organized by the national management of Cultural Rights and Citizenship of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) had a large presence of Panamanian writers, most of them specialist in child writing, and well known libraries and creative, cultural, educational and entertainment spaces.

The festival had a successful artistic program with special guests such as Panama's National Ballet, Tuba Music quartet, Nicole Dasent's animation from the Metropolitan Cultural Center, members of the Panama's National Network of Orchestra and Youth Cores and the fun participation of the Copetín clown from Panama's Mayor's Office.

The children and youth of the Children's and Youth Circle of Oral Countdown, Hector Collado with an amusing oral function of short stories, also participated.

The event was in memory of the cultural writer and promoter, Telsy Sánchez, who was an promoter and manager of this festival for many years.

The activity was intended to give parchment to families by directors of the Ministry of Culture.

At the end of the day a fun and colorful parade of posters and banners was held with themes that referred to the book, where more than 200 children and youth participated.

Students from the "Finding the Good Way" Academy of the Ministry of Security participated.
