To read stories, the Ministry of Culture will celebrate Oral Narration Day

On Saturday, March 23, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) has been scheduled to conduct with the Oral Narration Circle, Héctor Collado (CIDNO _ HC) at 3: 00 p.m. at the Ernesto J. Castillero Library at Omar's Retro Park, an afternoon of stories with children from the Circle, who will be talking about "Oral Narration Day," held every March 20.
The staging deals with a collective tale (adaptation) based on a story of the páparos indigenous people from South-West Mexico, whose idea was that some years ago she came to Panama for the fair of the book "Alekos," a Colombian storyteller, who met the circle, worked at a workshop with the children and resulted in this narrative.
"Counting and reading stories helps us to make many kinds of civic, ethical and cultural connections with the world. They are the best values that can be obtained with literature," said Carlos Fong, an promoter of reading and who conduct this circle of oral narrative.
He added that the dynamic that applied was to search for stories in the library and popular culture, where there was a story and it's about socializing, Fong explained.
Eight years ago, MiCultura with the National Library of Panama established the Children and Youth Circle of Oral Narration, Héctor Collado with children from seven to twelve years old, with the aim of rescuing the art of telling tales and promoting the social value of the word.
Parents interested in their children's participation in this program can get close at 3: 00 p.m. on the 4th floor at the children's room at the National Library.
