A framework convention for cultural cooperation was signed by the Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Giselle González Villarrué and the director of Colombia's Foundation Fálmica de Colombia, Alexandra Falla Zerrate, aimed at bringing together efforts to preserve, preserve and disseminate, inter alia, the audiovisual and sound heritage of both countries.
The Convention also includes other actions such as conduct artistic co-production, cultural, academic, research and training activities with respect to historical and cultural issues.
The incumbent of Culture, González Villarrué detailed that this partnership is strategic, as it also serves to safeguard the heritage, share experiences and promote research "that strengthen the identity through the recovery of our film memory."
With this convention, we "take an important step to create public awareness about the importance of audiovisual heritage but above all to know that new historic products can be created using film material."
Meanwhile, the signing of the convention by Colombia's Faithful Heritage Foundation, Alexandra Falla Zerrate emphasized cooperation and communication with the cultural authorities of Panama so as to achieve this cooperation convention that will help safeguard the memory of important historic moments.
Many of the actions referred to in the convention signed by both parties are promoting joint projects aimed at improving and enriching the tasks that both cultural entities conduct and conduct cultural events to the public with an exchange of experience, documents, information and knowledge at cultural level.
In addition to the signing of an agreement held at the headquarters of the National Library Ernesto J. Castillero located at Omar Park, a workshop was held about the management of Panamanian audiovisual heritage and was dictated by Dr. Falla Zerrate.
The signing of the convention also included the director of the National Library, María Magela Brenes, and the technical director of the Library, Ms Guadalupe Rivera, as well as representatives of Cinema Association, Red Crea and Associne.
