< strong > A BOARD TO STATE ENTITIES and CULTURAL SECTS, MiCultura ESTABLISHMENT RULES FOR THE ELABORATION OF THE NATIONAL CULTURE PLAN < / strong >

The establishment of the three committees of work, their respective recommendations and their choice of their secretary concluded the National Cultural Meeting organized by the Ministry of Culture in compliance with the General Law of Culture identified as 175 of 3 November 2020.

Following the opening of the regular session chaired by the Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Giselle González, the plenary proceeded with the choice of Maritza Vernaza from the theater sector as the secretary of the National Cultural Meeting, who expressed his gratitude and committed herself to work with all the cultural sectors of the country.

The work committees have been established at the meeting and have been Heritage and memory Civil participation and Cultural Dialogue and the third Commission Creation and Innovationeach with a board of directors, who worked independently and later at the plenary session gave a report with the recommendations to be followed to achieve the objectives of the meeting.

Isabel Burgos, national director of The Arts of MiCultura emphasized the importance of bringing together two representatives, leading and alternate from about 30 cultural sectors of the country that will now have the responsibility to design the National Plan of Culture that will be the guide or cultural path for the next seven years.

He clarified that consultations will be held throughout his country and that the National Cultural Meeting will have that responsibility.

The Reunion referred to in Act No. 175 was established by Executive Decree No. 22 of 2 October 2023 and includes representatives of different state institutions, the private sector and civil society as partners in the design, formulation and review of the National Cultural Plan.

Representatives of partners such as MIDES, MEDUCA, MICI, MIAMBIENTE, ATP, AMSMEs, National Secretariat for Afro-Panamanian Development, SENACYT, Association of Panama Municipality and CIHAC AIP, among others, participated.

Also, representatives of the artisan, dance, music, visual arts, cinema and audiovisual, literature, fashion, gastronomy, trade unions of artists, organisations with manifestations of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Panama, indigenous peoples, Afro-Panamanian peoples, of women, of youth, of older persons, of persons with disabilities, of societies with collective management of copyright and related rights.
