MiCultura officials cooperate at Panama Solidarity collection centre

Panama, 24 August 2020 -More than 175 officials from the Ministry of Culture join the team of volunteers who work daily at the food collection centre of Plan Panama Solidario, located at the convention centre ATLAPA, as appropriate with the commitment of the national government to work united in this fight against covid.19

The MiCultura directors accompanied Minister Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Deputy Minister Gabriel González and General Secretary José Ismael Herrera at the work day of the centre called "La Fábrica" where the bags intended for the most needy Panamanian people are prepared.

"I have been unable to contain my admiration for each and every one of you, and we have accompanied you with cultural performances with 113 artists and today they come as volunteers, as well as the 60 MiCultura partners, all the directors of the ministry because what you do here is save lives," added Aguilar Navarro.

Since the start of the state of emergency by Covid-19, officials of the Ministry of Culture have been supporting them in the loading areas as well as production of bags.

President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen's government established the Panama Solidarity Plan to meet the needs of thousands of Panamanian people affected by the pandemic, an economic and subsistence assistance and as a tool to bring social peace and relief to Panamanian families.

To strengthen support among state institutions, MiCultura, through Panama's National Ballet, the National Symphony Orchestra and MiCultura 2.0 artists participate in scheduled cultural activities.
