Ballet and Symphony of MiCultura join the fight against Covid19

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the National Ballet of Panama and the National Symphony Orchestra, moved to the collection centre of the Panama Solidarity Plan at the ATLAPA Convention Center to work with the volunteer team from its artistic and administrative disciplines.

That initiative corresponds to the commitment of the National Government to work united in this fight against the Covid-19, to which Minister Carlos Aguilar, during his recent visit to this place, announced the participation of the institution with his partners, supporting his volunteers in his field and his administrative work and with his artistic presentations to accompany those who daily and with their solidarity prepare thousands of bags to be distributed throughout the country to families affected by the pandemic.

With the work of our musicians and dancers we seek to motivate and transmit good energy and vibrate for those men and women who with their mystique and enthusiasm work every day for all Panamanian people who need help with solidarity, the Minister said.

Gloria Barrios, Executive Director of the National Ballet, mentioned that "these choreographies are inspired by the time we are all living as human beings in a pandemic. That week we had several presentations with the participation of 20 dancers and the performance of five pieces as Feeling, Spacio Nostri, KI, Luz de Esperanza and To Panama."

The musicians and dancers will be interacting in areas where volunteers will appreciate a moment of peace and motivation with art, dance and music, among other artistic expressions dedicated to the heroes who work in this pandemic.

Since the start of the state of emergency by Covid-19, officials of the Ministry of Culture have been supporting them in the loading areas as well as production of bags.

The government of President Cortizo Cohen created the Panama Solidarity Plan to meet the needs of thousands of Panamanian people affected by the pandemic, a plan of economic assistance and subsistence as a tool that brings social peace and relief to Panamanian families.
