< strong > The new board of directors of the National Martyrs and Heroes Movement of 9 January 1964. < / strong >

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué participated in the event of The Take of Possession and Jury of the new board of directors of the National Movement of Martyrs and Heroes of 9 January 1964, that will govern the destinations of the organization, during the period 2024-2025.

That activity takes place as a preamble to the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the patriotic gesture that occurred during the days 9, 10, 11 and 12 January 1964.

At the event, plaque of recognition was given to the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, as an honorary member, who was received from his deputy president, Carlos García.

A resolution and an honor medal was also given to Marco Antonio Fenton Achurra, a star hero for his participation of his patriotic gesture of January 9, 1964.

González Villarrué noted that from MiCultura "we have been keeping our national identity and our commitment to keeping our story."

"You are people who inspire me and have today reconnected me with the aim of serving the country, just for the courage they have shown and the spirit of unity they transmit. It has been important and have reconnected me with the goal."

The event was attended by members of the board of directors, special guests from the National Institute and families of martyrs and heroes of this historic date, who received recognition and certificates from the movement.
