MiCultura conduct virtual activities at first year's celebration

The state's leading entity for the promotion and protection of cultural rights celebrates its first anniversary, with the 501 years of Panama City and 106 of Panama Canal.

To Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Minister of Culture, August 15 is a date of great significance for Panama and for that reason, the ministry wants to share with all Panamanian and Panamanian mystics, enthusiasm and the sense of Homeland and solidarity, at our first anniversary, strengthening cultural expressions and manifestations for the benefit of our country's sustainable development.

The incumbent of culture emphasized that only 45 days after President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen's government had been run, the Ministry of Culture had been established, following Action 92 of the Government Plan, by passing Act 90 of 15 August 2019. Thus, at the Ministry of Culture, our daily work was aligned with the National Strategic Plan, from a vision of State that met the Sustainable Development Goals that allows us to build united the country we all want.

"Our commitment is to act by united forces and to call on Panamanian people to achieve consensus that will advance at this complex stage of national life," added Aguilar Navarro.

For his part, Carmen Inés Vásquez, Minister of Culture of Bogotá Colombia sent a greeting to the ministry for the anniversary and emphasized the historic accomplishment that reaffirms the importance of culture in public policies for the promotion of sustainable, inclusive and equitable development in our countries.

"He highlighted the work of Minister Carlos Aguilar Navarro by leading and leading this important challenge of structured a robust and relevant institution to meet the needs of communities and territories by generating opportunities from cultural heritage to identity and creativity," she remarked.
