MiCultura recognizes artistic merits of Solinka

Panama, 12 August 2020.-The Ministry of Culture gave an recognition to singer Solange Arias, known as "Solinka," for 53 years of an artistic career and his contribution to culture through his music.

The "Panamanian Queen of the Guaracha," as she was also referred to as with national and international circuits, was represented at My Culture at Casa 2.0, invited by the orchestra of Liusben Silva and its Sonometer, with great success and how to love you.

Solinka, Visibly excited, expressed his appreciation for the recognition given by MiCultura and emphasized his satisfaction for being an integral part of the artistic history of the country, belonging to a generation of singers and musicians that have positively influenced other artists, opening up roads for new generations.

Minister Carlos Aguilar Navarro explained that for the National Government it's a true honor to have at MiCultura at Casa 2.0 as one of the great pioneers of Panamanian tropical music that has returned to an historic stage as the Balboa Theater, at this occasion accompanied by vocalist Lusben Silva and his ensemble Sonometer, formed by outstanding musicians Juan Berne, Juan Celada, Julian Gil, Francisco Buckley son, Alexander González and Wichi López, to share his talent with all his remaining audience and enjoy the program we offer from the Panama Plan Solidario.

"Solinka is an example of how all Panamanians have to give our best to get ahead at these times of a pandemic," added the Minister.

The distinction to Solinka was given by Maru Gálvez Director of Creative Economics and Rainer Tuñón, Director of Communication at MiCultura.

The name "Solinka" was born by its origin, the "Sun" of Panama, and the "Inka" by the ancestors of Peru, was pioneered by the salsa, leading Panama throughout the world with international melodies, Peruvian music, Panamanian music and boleros.

In his years of his musical activity he earned innumerable awards and distinctions throughout his career, such as: The American Eagle (1972), an award awarded by the Mexican press; Ermitage de Buga (1977), third place at the Buga Interpreting Festival (Colombia) and in 1980 his participation in the Panama OTI Song Festival, with all his awards, including best performer, best theme, best musical arrangement and best direction.

He has also been involved in Teletones from Chile, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Colombia and Peru and three times in Panama.
