Minister of Culture visits collection centre Panama Solidario at ATLAPA

The Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro, was a member of the ministerial conference that visited the collection centre of the Panama Solidarity Programme at the ATLAPA Convention Centre Thursday to thank and support the team of volunteers who come to that place every day.

About 1,200 public servants from different entities, university students, members of NGOs and society prepare more than 30 thousand food bags from Monday to Saturday as part of the responses from the National Government and that are distributed to citizens who have been affected by the COVID 19 pandemic.

The head of the cultural portfolio emphasized that one of the aims of this visit is to strengthen institutional synergy so that more public servants join this commendable work of solidarity so that they can produce twice as many bags, bearing in mind that many parts of the country are at the tractable stage.

He also referred to an initiative to conduct entertainment to threaten the day of these citizens who have decided to give their time to help those who are economically fragile by quarantine.

Carlos Aguilar Navarro was accompanied by MIDES and MIDA's officials and IMA's officials, where they were told about the scope and expectations they wished to achieve with these new shipments.

The products used in the solidarity market are bought at national level to benefit local producers and distributors, without intermediaries, so as to boost the national economy.

Until July 2020, the Panama Solidarity Plan has delivered 2 million 356 thousand 823 food bags and 1 million 444 thousand 879 physical bonds. To meet the needs of thousands of Panamanian people affected by the Covid.19 President Cortizo Cohen's government established the Panama Solidarity Plan, a plan of economic assistance and subsistence as a tool to bring social peace and relief to Panamanian families.
