MiCultura welcomes approval at first project debate that declares Natah as capital of national culture and history

Panama, 4 July 2020.The Ministry of Culture expressed its satisfaction with the adoption at first discussion of bill 200 "that declares the town of Natah as capital of culture and national history," in commemoration of its 500 years of foundation.
At an ordinary meeting of the National Assembly's Commission for Education, Culture and Sport, chaired by Member Héctor Brands, the Minister reiterated the significant importance of the Natah City's anniversary.
The bill, submitted by his deputy Luis Ernesto Carles, aims to promote and contribute to the organisation of the celebrations of the 500 years of his establishment.
The project also includes the declaration as a national historic monument to El Caño Archaeological Park, under the care of the Ministry of Culture through its National Historic Heritage Section.
They accompanied the Minister of Culture, the National Director of Historical Heritage Dr. Katti OSorio and the National Director of Research and Publications Dr. Marixa Lasso.
