The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué gave the Order of Proceder for the Study, development of plans, construction, equipment and furniture of the Centro de Bellas Artes and Centro Cultural Estelina Tejeira Project, which will not only benefit the students and teachers of this centre but will also be a great attractiveness within the Penonomé and the central area of the country and will be implemented by the National Government through the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).
In April of this year students, teachers, parents of the current Center of Fine Arts and Folklore Stelina Tebeira of Penonomé, local authorities of the governorate and of the Ministry of Education (Meduca), as well as civil society represented in Unite by Penonomé, had an opportunity to get to know about the project of the new centre and its impact and what are the components and values of its voice by Carlos Him, an infrastructure manager at MiCultura.
The participants welcomed the proposal and expressed their satisfaction with the information put forward by officials and expressed their appreciation for this first approach that will give them an understanding of what this project will mean and will focus on training and strengthening artistic and cultural disciplines in Coclé and to other provinces, signifying a powerful cultural exchange between art professionals and students.
The work that will be run by the CECODSA consortium, which will cover an area of intervention of about 6,817 square metres that will include an area of parking, auditorium, amphitheater, classroom, cafeteria, living areas, library, workshop and conference rooms, toilets, ramps and elevators among other adjustments.
Carlos Him, infrastructure manager at MiCultura explained that this project will have two phases. The first will consist of the development of design and studies (ground, traffic and topographic), among others that are necessary for this type of project. The second will consist of construction of the building with suggested specifications, equipment and furniture and its respective maintenance manual.
