"I want you to know that I love you," that's the name of the play that will carry the message of The Fifth Inclusive Gala, to be held on Saturday, December 2, at the National Theater, to promote the cultural rights of people with disabilities.
"This year's performance comes in a different format, a play written by a person with disabilities and has a wonderful cast that as well as performing, will be presenting different artistic disciplines within the function, as mentioned by Jorge Morales, National Director of Equal Opportunities at MiCultura.
Morales, also highlighted the participation of 60 artists at a time of which 40 have some kind of disability.
"Our main goal is to recognize the artistic and cultural achievements of persons with disabilities and thus to have them professionally empowered to facilitate their incorporation into a productive cultural life." That event also challenges the inclusion of persons with disabilities under equal conditions. "Morales added.
The cast will be formed by artists, dancers and musicians as: Luis Mario Moore, Diana Sofia Hernández, Jashymir Bedoya, Isaac Fiatt, Haydeé Gabriela Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Jembell Chifundo and Jaime Newball.
As in previous years, the gala will have a variety of artistic performances such as dance, music and poetry with children and youth from the Special Education program of the Panama Network of Orchestra and Youth Cores and the Rasheda Dance Academy, among others.
The activity has been organized since 2019 by the National Office for Equal Opportunities of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) to mark the International Day of People with Disabilities, 3 December.
