< strong > MiCultura summons filmmakers to participate in the Fondo Cine 2023 < / strong > National Competition

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) announced that from October 24 and up to December 26 the call to participate in the national contest Fondo Cine 2023 will be open and will be available to propose persons and lawyers of Panamanian nationality.

Sheila González, national film director (DICINE) of the MiCultura detailed that the contest is supported by the Fondo Cine, awarded by the Panamanian state for the promotion of the national film industry.

The use and distribution of the fund are under Decree 136 of 19 September 2012 and awards four categories where 12 jobs will be awarded, three jobs in each of the four categories.

The Fondo Cine National Competition awarded $2.2 million in prizes distributed into 4 categories: $1.8 million among the first three locations in fiction and animation and 3 awards amounting to $100.000.00 each will be awarded for documentary production.

While for the development of script there will also be three awards for 15.000.00 for each project and in the category of support to feature projects of fiction and documentary after production stage will be awarded 25,000.00 among the three best scores.

Since the Fondo Cine's implementation began in 2013, 98 projects have been supported financially in four different categories and resulted in the premiere of 42 feature and documentary production and currently there are 29 projects at different production phases.
