At a meeting held at Campeche, Mexico, on 12 and 13 October 2023, the Intergovernmental Committee of the IBERMEDIA Programme to which Panama forms part through the National Cinema Directorate of the Ministry of Culture, selected projects to be supported at its 2023 call for assistance for the categories of co-development of film projects, co-production of long films (fiction, animation and documentary) and training.
The countries with most projects selected were Spain with 11, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay with 9 projects each, Argentina with 8, Guatemala, Italy and Panama with 7 projects each and Brazil, Chile, Portugal and Dominican Republic with 6 projects each.
The call 2023 of the Ibermedia Programme will support Panama with 250, 483.00 (two hundred and fifty-four hundred and eighty-three dollars), distributed between two projects in the category of co-development of film projects, one in the category of co-production of feature films and four in the category of Training:
