MiCultura National Plastic arts School celebrates 107 years with virtual exposure

Panama, July 29, 2020.-The Ministry of Culture celebrates 107 years of establishment of the National School of Plastic Arts with a virtual exhibition that includes 42 works performed by students from technical and free courses at this centre of cultural studies.

"Expo Trazos" is a space for the student population to have the knowledge acquired in the first half of 2020, in the disciplines of painting, drawing and sculpture, said Eliette Apolayo, Sub Director of Artistics Education of MiCultura.

"Through this virtual exhibition we can share with viewers the talent and creativity that our students give us at this study centre and expressed their special recognition to the great teachers they have been contributing and today generously contributing knowledge to the development of the plastic arts in Panama and thus to the cultural growth of the country," added Professor Apolayo.

Gloria Fábrega, an interiors designer and a student of the upper technical of plastic arts, called upon his partners to continue to work with the arts because promoting art is to promote culture, while Jenny Mae Rodriguez, an open course student, expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the teachers that have come together through virtual platforms to continue to teach at this time of quarantine and have been instrumental in enabling them to more express and develop their artistic skills.

The National School of Plastic Arts of MiCultura was the institution charged with training new artists from the country, founded on August 13, 1913, under Roberto Lewis's efforts.
