< strong > More than 140 national specialists participate at the third Panamanian Congress of Education and Museums < / strong >

With the motto "Open Museum, transformation and innovation," the third Panamanian Congress of Education and Museums was launched Monday with the presence of the Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, who commended the work of its organizers to promote synergy between the community, organization and state.

"Panama needs to make museums and visiting centers more accessible, inclusive and participatory, responsive to the needs and expectations of the different public that generate networks and adapt to social and technological changes."

"I have been pleased to share with them that during these last few years and since we have been an Institute to the Ministry of Culture, we have taken important steps as the creation of the Afro-Panamanian memory museum, at the Building of the Royal Customs of Portobelo," added the incumbent of Culture.

The meeting organized by the Network of Museums and Visitor's Centres of Panama has been supported by the Ministry of Culture and will extend up to 4 October with national and international guests, who will be sharing their experiences in the areas of restoration, conservation and collection, among other activities allied with museums.

Amanda Deco, president of the Network of Museums and Visitors' Centres, stated that it's "a challenge to be able to join people from museums and guest centers throughout the country. We have had more than 140 registered and this means that the cultural world is moving."

The congress will have a backstage and will include a visit to laboratories and archives from different museums and live exhibitions at some visitor's centers and end with workshops.
