< strong > 2023 Theater Festival closes with more than 20 activities < / strong >

With the participation of international storytellers who submerged the public into an exciting "sea of tales," the seventh version of the Teatro Festival was completed, on Saturday September 30 at the Anita Villalaz Theater organized by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).

That evening, storytellers from Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, Brazil and Panama, among others, have been involved and have offered stories about love, obedience and nature that have caught the attention and interaction of the audience, and have enjoyed each of the stories that have been shown about the stage.

The participation of the guest stories coincided with the 9th Caribbean meeting of oral narrators organized by the theatricist Dagoberto Chung and held in our country from 25 to 29 September in the province of Colón.

"The theater combines all the arts and one of them is the verbal expression. The narrations at the theater, the oral narrative leads us to a form of performing theater, leads us to tell a story, so sometimes there's a storyteller, a stage and a public that communicates, that receives, that reacts, that applauds," Meredith Carley, coordinator of the theater event 2023, said.

Carley stated that during the festival that began on September 11, about 20 activities were undertaken with the participation of the Brazilian company Pia Fraus, with the support of Brazil's Embassy in Panama.

"That year we emphasized the presentation of plays by Panamanian authors with the aim of bringing the talent of our playwrights and actors closer to all public," added Carley.
