MiCultura invites to participate in calls for Ibermúsica

Panama, 28 July 2020 -The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) invites the artistic and musical community of the country to participate in the call for an Ibero-American Music Development Programme (IBERMASICS 2020) for the choral work and song creation competitions.

Ibero-American composers and composers can be run up to 1 December 2020 for the third version of the composition contest for the song's choral work that awarded a unique prize of eight thousand pits (B /. 8,000.00) to the winning work.

It was also reported that artists from the 12 countries that make up the program will be able to participate as of October 15 at the seventh edition of the song creation, selecting three songs with a prize of a thousand (B / 1 million), and pat each of the leading songs of the member countries.

Ellis Newman, National Director of Artistic Education at the Ministry of Culture, explained that through these initiatives we work with artistic institutions to promote and benefit talented exponents and musical composers, and to expand their projects.

According to IBERMASICA's organizers, the program has established that this year three composers will be awarded for each of the countries that make up the program with a view to favouring more artists at a time when the sector needs them.

The Panamanian winners of IBERMUSICA from the past included the singer Carlos Méndez, the acoustic pop duo Monalisa and Rodrigo, the Afro-disiac and entre nos groups, La Tribu, an indigenous rock band and accordionist Yeyny Santamaria.

The results of both contest will be announced between late 2020 and early 2021. Similarly, applications will have to be made online on the website of the IBERMASICS Programme www.ibermusic.org.
