< strong > Panama will first participate at the International Dance Meeting in Bogotá < / strong >

Panama will participate for the first time at an annual meeting of the Ibero-American Dance Platform (PID) to be held in Bogotá, Colombia from October 2 to 4.

The meeting will be attended by representatives from 16 countries with a view to strengthening management and partnership for the development of dance and will be represented by Professor Gloria Barrios, Executive Director of the National Ballet of Panama.

According to Professor Barrios, the meeting is of great importance because it "provides an opportunity for our country to have an international space, especially with a focus on management and partnerships for the development of dance in the Ibero-American cultural space."

The agenda of this Forum includes issues such as, the mobility of dancers, training and the design of strategies that aim at strengthening the dance sector in its three lines of action.

To be a member of the DIP, "it gives our country the visibility and support of the region for the development of cultural policies towards dance, enabling us to share experiences with other countries of the region, leading to benefits for the sector," Barrios said.

Barrios added that Panama will work on joint proposals and will also promote synergy with other international organisations such as the Ibero-American Research and Research Fund (IBERESCEN) and the Ibero-American Secretary General (SEGIB) and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI). "

The meeting will be attended by representatives of countries such as Paraguay, Guatemala, Portugal, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, Argentina and Panama, among others.

The Ibero-American Dance Platform (PID) is an organization with the aim of interviewing cultural entities, collective and agents of the sector and international institutions with a view to bringing together the dreams and desires of artists and dance technicians.
