< strong > Panama Icarus Festival 2023 will reach the provinces of Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro < / strong >

The Foundation for Escenic and Audiovisual Arts (FAE), the University of Panama with the support of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), held a press conference at ministerial headquarters to share details of the activities of version 16 of the Icarus Film Festival in Panama, to be held from October 2.

There will be 3 headquarters Panama, Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro with 10 production spaces, 19 films and 6 teachers from 8 countries and 7 training activities, to be developed by international and well-known Panamanian guests. The countries that participate are Costa Rica, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama.

Within the board of this festival, there are 10 Panamanian films with short and feature films that will represent Panama at the next Icarus International Festival in Guatemala and that were selected by a jury composed of Ana Xochilt Alarcón of Costa Rica and the Panamanian Jeico Castro and Rainer Tuñón.

Sheila González, national director of DICINE at the Ministry of Culture, emphasized that "Icaro's international festival is a window for the exhibition of Central American cinema our cinema and at the same time a vehicle and integration among countries of the region that allows us to create new audiences and to see the reality that lives in each of these countries."

Roberto Enrique King, president of ICARO stated that "this festival aims to achieve knowledge and recognition of the South American audiovisual expressions, representing us as societies that these productions are increasingly having better quality and content and while they are part of developing cinematographies, they can entertain us, have fun and have them reflect as any other cinema in the world."

Among the scenarios for projections in Panama's town will be held at University Cinema, while inside the country will reach locations such as David, Puerto Armuelles, Changuinola and Admiral.
