< strong > Minister of Culture commemorates International Day of Peace 2023 with an appeal to actions for a culture of peace for global goals < / strong >

The Minister of Culture, (MiCultura) Giselle González Villarrué, representing the national government, participated with the ambassador of France to Panama, S.E. Aude De Amorim, in cultural events and the sowing of an olive tree that symbolizes fraternity, peace, renewal and that is also capable of coping with adverse conditions.

That activity, which was organized at the Plaza de France, forms part of the conduct of several initiatives to be undertaken on 21 September with a view to strengthening the ideals of peace among nations and peoples as a celebration that takes place at a global level in each country

For this year 2023, the Organization of the United Nations promotes the theme "Action for peace: our ambition for # World Objetives."

Special guests were the boys and girls of the schools of the United States of America, Simón Bolívar, Manuel José Hurtado and Republic of Mexico, and they were able to participate with singing and prayer dedicated to peace.

In his statement, González Villarrué emphasized that "we have to undertake to teach and put into practice the value of tolerance and mutual respect to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals."

He added that "more should be invested in a culture for peace, that will build a just and inclusive world that embraces diversity and inclusion."

The Minister González Villarrué outlined specific projects promoted by MiCultura as strengthening the Network of Orquestas and Coros Infantiles and Juveniles, established in 2017, currently with 12 centres at national and local level.

He added that from the Network has been "affected by the lives of more than 15,000 children and adolescents, to give more and better opportunities to our childhood and adolescence through music."

González Villarrué called upon the children present, emphasizing that they are the future of this beautiful nation, they are the force of change that will promote conduct aimed at respecting and peacefully resolving their conflicts.

Officials from the French Embassy in Panama, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of foundations and teaching body from the schools invited were present.
