< strong > MiCultura awards four winners of the Red Cordero Music Composition Competition < / strong >

"In Panama, composers have worked tirelessly to create works that reflect the wealth of national culture and diversity," stated Isabel Burgos, national director of the arts at the Ministry of Culture at the prize event of the sixth edition of the Roque Cordero Music Composition Competition.

"Roque Cordero was an iconic figure in the history of Panamanian music, who left a legacy that continues to inspire whole generations, and this contest pays tribute to his memory," Burgos added.

The winners of the Roque Cordero contest in the different categories were Emiliano Pardo Tristan in the category "Solo" with the piece Sonata Rojo. In "Casa," the winner was Erick Parris with the piece Quiemus. The composer Samuel Ivan Robles in the category "Coro" with the piece Tenebrae Factae Sunt and Essley Xavier Castillo Funes in the category "Banda" with the composition Selvatic Landscape.

The winners of the different categories expressed their complacency with these awards. They expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for promoting this type of contest that gives composers an opportunity to create works while at the same time inviting other composers to participate in the next contest to enrich the Panamanian musical offer.

The Jury in charge of the selection of the winners was composed of Riccardo Riccardi from Italy, Guido López Gavilan from Cuba and María Antonieta González Gómez from Mexico.

The event was threatened by the quintet of Cordero wood winds that performed the work "Topic and Variations," by composer Roque Cordero.
