MiCultura with "Crea in Panama" range

Panama, 24 July 2020 -The Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro, presented at TRAMA 2020 the scope of "Crea in Panama," designed as the national program dedicated to cultural entrepreneurs in the country to strengthen the creative economy that forms part of the vision of sustainable development contained in President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen's Plan of Action.

During his participation at this meeting of Culture and Creative Economics organized by the City of Knowledge, Aguilar Navarro called on participants to get to know and share the innovative experiences that "as a national government, we are supporting through the Ministry of Culture, for the benefit of 69 thousand creative and cultural entrepreneurs throughout the country."

TRAMA 2020 is a platform that re-invents virtuality and contributes to bringing the key actors of different industries together into a collaborative ecosystem that is complemented with actions that as a Ministry of Culture we are developing through its creation in Panama.

The National Government will participate at this event by presenting programs that support cultural industries with the presence of six government institutions that offer programs aimed at the development of cultural and creative industries and cultural tourism.

The Panel of Government figures models Maru Gálvez, Director of Creative Economics at the Ministry of Culture, with the participation of Carmen Gisela Vergara, Executive Director of ProPanama (Chancellery), Arturo Arango, Assistant Director of the Authority of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (AMSMEs), Yill Otero, Director of International Cooperation (Chancellery), Gloria Ochys, Director of Marketing at the Savings Fund, Victor Sánchez, National Secretary with responsibility for SENACYT and Caragner, Director of Investment at the Tourism Authority of Panama.

For his part, Sheila González, General Director of Cinema, of the Ministry of Culture, will discuss with representatives of the Association of Audiovisual production Procinema (José Luis Rodriguez and Alberto Serra), the International Film Festival of Panama (Pituka Ortega Heilbron), the Digital Animation and VideoGames Cluster of CAMATEC (Luis Carlos Caballero) and the Ganexa University (Jorge Martínez) and exhibitors of the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.

MiCultura at TRAMA 2020 also had spaces to discuss the situation of the theater with the session called. "The Panamanian theater put to the test," with the participation of Daniel Domínguez, National Director of the Arts (MiCultura), and with Roberto Enrique King (Festival de Artes Escénicas de Panama), Luis Gustavo Macías (Escena Awards) and Rodrigo Farrugia and Sandy Correa (Association of Teatologists of Panama), who shared a selection of innovative initiatives and projects that have helped to elevate the artistic quality and expand the public theater.
