< strong > sign Intent Letter for Indigenous Peoples and History Museum < / strong >

A letter of intention to give in administration and use to the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), the building that houses the headquarters of the Ministry of Government (Mingob) at the San Felipe correction was signed on 11 August between the Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué and the Minister of Government, Roger Tejada with the aim of installing in that historic building, the Museum of Indigenous Peoples and the Museum of History of the Nation.

To put this proposal into place, research will be supported by the research team at the Centre for Historical, Anthropological and Cultural Research (CIHAC- AIP) of the Ministry of Culture, who will jointly conduct research with traditional authorities and indigenous peoples' associations to design an innovative and robust and inclusive Museography with a view to enabling our country's history to be reflected in these museums.

"For MiCultura this action is very special, because the story will be in the hands of a great team of historians who will build that historic narrative. It will be a work as a whole that will take shape in a museum that will make us proud to be Panamanian," emphasized González Villarrué.

"I assume this great responsibility, it's an honor to work to build a History Museum and an Indigenous Peoples Museum, because you know we have worked to highlight the work of our cultural and human heritage," added the regent of Panamanian culture.

For his part, Roger Tejada's Mingob Minister mentioned that "this is a debt we have had for years with the indigenous peoples who have been waiting for his museum, and that's why we have an important sign because through the Ministry of Culture we will fulfill this commitment as a state and leave a legacy that will help preserve his history, his struggles and everything that forms his essence."

The formal transfer of this property will be undertaken once the motion of the Ministry of Government has been completed.
