< strong > MiCultura celebrated 19 years of Intangible Heritage Safeguarding < / strong >

In the framework of the 19th anniversary of Act 35 of 7 July 2004 by which the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage was ratified, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through the co-ordination of Intangible Cultural Heritage (PCI) held a didactic afternoon at the institution with the aim of highlighting the importance of this event.

The didactic day was held at the headquarters of MiCultura, where a sample of 14 photographs that have been documented from 2011 to date as part of the national inventory of Intangible Heritage and the sites declared as World Patrimonians. Also held was the workshop by the group Danzas "Mami" Chacón de La Chorro that augurs the party of Corpus Christi and the Dance of the Great Devil in our peoples.

They were at this celebration partners, managers, special guests and the press that enjoyed an amena afternoon full of art and culture.

Emma Gómez, National Director of Intangible Heritage, stated that with this activity the cycle of national and global projects and celebrations will be opened and will be held about 20 years from the ICC Convention, on October 17, 2023.

The Convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage includes cultural diversity as well as indigenous cultural traditions, Afro-descendant traditions and folklore and mestizo expressions.
