The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) will conduct six competitions and an award with a view to highlighting the work and legacy of Panamanian artisans as part of its activities to conduct the 33rd edition of the National Crafts Fair from 26 to 30 July 2023.
Retirement to the Artesanal Trajectory, Camisilla contest, National Queen of Crafts contest, pollera contest, Youth Artesan contest, Highlights Artesan contest are the scheduled competitions and the San José Decor. The registration to all contest are free and will be open up to 18 July and includes Panamanian artisan of birth or naturalised registered individually with the National Register of Crafts, who are of age and have been selected at the National Feria of Crafts.
Each of the competitions that MiCultura has organized for the purposes of the celebration of the National Crafts Fair that will be in honor of the "Dances and Expressions of Corpus Christi," has its established bases and requirements, and they have to be carefully read by the applicants.
The competition
Stylish Crafts contest: intended to highlight those pieces that have been made by artisan applying two (2) or more artisan techniques as long as they are run by a single complainant. Each artisan may put forward a (1) piece or artisan proposal according to his or her category of choice, as long as he or she does so complying with all of the minimum requirements established at these bases. The participating artisan piece shall be especially designed for this event.
Youth Crafts contest: All young artisan from the official and private schools of the Republic of Panama participate. Each educational centre is responsible for enrolling the students through electronic mail lmendez @ MiCultura.gob.pawith their respective photos.
The Polleres with Labores contest in honor of Marina García Cedeño: this contest evaluates different aspects of the pollera gala or with work. pollera Shadow, pollera Marcada and pollera Zurcida or Bordada will be the three categories that will be tiamed and awarded for three awards for each.
Reina de la Feria Nacional de Artesania contest: have been selected to participate in the XLIII edition of the National Crafts Fair. They have to have high civic and moral values, representing love and respect for crafts. They can be put forward or put forward by artisan associations and trade unions who can register a maximum of 3 (3) candidates, up to July 14 2023 and will be held through the following post lmendez @ MiCultura.gob.pa.
Shirt contest: In posthumous tribute to Dona Edia Edicta Castillo de Vásquez. They have to be made for this contest and as a whole by its creator that should be Panamanian. The basis of traditionality and national culture will be widely taken into account in the choice of the piece or pieces to be rewarded. They will be three awards for two categories of nightsittings and crafts.
Postiulated Artesan contest: To select a place or physical space at the fair. The Spanish and Spanish Teachers can participate in this contest. The online form at MiCulturaQ.gob.pa will be filled out and will be available at 11: 59 p.m. to facilitate the recruitment of candidates at national level.
San José Decor: That aim to pay tribute and recognition to the path of master craftsmen with an exceptional value in the field of artisan training and technical training. To this end, Panamanian craftsmen are involved by birth or by naturalization, registered with the national register of artisan of the National Handicraft Office of the Ministry of Culture and have a valid and proven residence in the country and have a valid and proven performance of more than 20 years of conduct in the artisan area, and have a unique prize for this award.
