A symphony concert to be held on Saturday May 13th at 8: 00 p.m. at Llano Largo Church at Las Tables, Province of Los Santos begins the 2023 concert season of the Panama Youth Orchestra and Chorus Network of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The announcement was made by the incumbent of MiCultura, Giselle González Villarrué during an encounter with the media at Albrook Mall and where she was accompanied by the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), María Del Carmen Sacasa and the Director of the Network, Electra Castillo.

The season will continue on Monday 15th at the Balboa Theater with the first gala concert with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra directed by Alexis Fong and the presentation by Panamanian pianist Jonathan Cáceres, who has been at and been awarded prizes both inside and outside the country and who was a part of La Red at its beginning and currently an accompanying pianist at the Ballet Studio Maureen Rivera in Costa Rica.

The concert will start at 8: 00 at night and free entrance and the attendees will enjoy performances of pieces created by Beethoven, Grieg and Borodin.

Minister González Villarrué advanced that the program will continue on June 10 at 6: 30 p.m. at the Metropolitan Cathedral, June 17 at the Church of San Juan Bautista de Aguadulce, July 8 at 5: 00 p.m. at the National Theater and July 25 with the Special Education Program's concert "A place to dream" at the Balboa Theater.

"Today we start with this great announcement of the new season of La Red's concerts always bearing in mind culture as an engine for development of the country. We have had a wonderful public that has been excited. I thank Panamanian people for their contribution to La Red that continues to grow and is in every province, including town. We are performing a transformative role of this youth that promises a better future," said González Villarrué.

The Network continues to transform lives and our youth are the reason and tool for changing our society that needs a youth that integrates into culture and appreciates the arts said La Red's director, Electra Castillo, who added that for this new season "expectations are very high, including continuing to grow as a musical society and continuing to transform youth and children and their communities as well."

"The public can look forward to the surrender of each of our students because to play an instrument is a daily effort and a motivation for families, for us and for the audience to give applause to that youth who, after day, are transforming our society," Castillo said.

The meeting with journalists ended with a concert with more than 50 youth members of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of La Red.
