Some 15 artisan and entrepreneurs are trained in marketing, photography and audiovisual at the first visual arts workshop offered by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) at its headquarters in May.
Basic principles for marketing, an introduction to the art of commercial and audiovisual photography on social networks, are the themes that will be addressed during five days of workshop aimed at small entrepreneurs who work with handmade products such as: jewelry, pre-Columbian art, painting, shivering production and recycling among others.
Sheila González, national film director (DICINE) at the Ministry of Culture expressed that "we had a good reception from the artisan's. We as DICINE have supported our sector but have also been contributing to strengthening knowledge of other sectors of our creative and cultural industries, at this opportunity through the creative use of a mobile phone."
He explained that there is a collaborative relationship with the University of Ganexa Art, where a team of professionals and students attending his master's degree in photography teach artisan to take photographs of products so that they can have better visibility on their social networks that will help them to sell and display their crafts.
Teresa Wald, an artisan who learned how to work with emphatically recycled materials, said "she dedicated me to transform what people get rid of into useful and beautiful things. I loved this workshop, she was really good at improving and I would like to learn from marketing and social networks."
The workshops continue with the introduction to Audiovisual Art (Realización de Celumetajes), by the Experimental University Cinema Group (GECU) on 1718.19 and 23 May 9: 30 a.m. at the headquarters of MiCultura.
MiCultura will continue to work with other partners to train artisan in digital tools to participate at the next national crafts fair, to be held from 26 to 30 July.
