MiCultura celebrates Ibero-American year of music with Ibero-orchestras contest

Panama, 17 July 2020 -The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) invites young musicians to participate in the contest for Young Ibero-orchestras Juveniles 2020 and Young Association year Ibero-American Music 2020, of the Ibero-orchestras Juveniles Programme, which will be open until 30 August 2020.
The aim of this call is to highlight those groups and interpreters that best reflect the mission, vision and objectives that underpin the Ibero-orchestras Youth Programme and that can be found by applying to the link at www.iberororchestrasjujiles.org / who we are), especially with regard to the commitment that the applicants have shown with the grouping of which they are part and with the social reality in which they live.

The criteria for participating in the Young Interpret contest are as follows:
To be between 12 and 22 years old as at 1 June 2020, to be regularly integrated into a musical grouping part of the national structure of the country presenting the applications and to highlight, through its participation in national orchestral and coral systems, the mission, vision and objectives advanced by the Ibero-orchestras Juveniles Programme.
Each nomination will be submitted to the representative of Iberorcestas in Panama and will consist of the following: letter of motivation, curriculum or leave of living, authorization signed by father, mother or tutor if his or her minor and video representative of his or her current technical level with a duration of 5 minutes.
Whereas to participate in the 2000 Ibero-orchestras Youth Association Competition, interested parties have to have a minimum 3-year track record as at 1 June 2020, as part of the national architecture of each participating country, to promote the aims of the Ibero-orchestras Youth Programme.
The applicants are to be emphasized in the following areas: technical capacity, aesthetic experience and artistic quality will be considered in the context of operation of the grouping, Social impact of the grouping, especially with regard to the groupings situated in small, remote or areas of social and economic vulnerability, diversity of the orchestra, chorus or grouping, and Iberorquestas Juveniles.
Further, candidates should be strongly committed to promoting diversity in their projects, with particular attention to the inclusion of girls, ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities, the presence of factors of innovation in the activity or character of the grouping., gender equity: The steps taken by the candidate group to educate and raise awareness about gender equality will be taken into account.
The applications may be accompanied by supporting documentation (videos, press articles and previous recognition) as deemed appropriate to facilitate the final decision of the jury.
The Jury's decision will be published in November 2020. The winners of both forms will be published through the Ibero-orchestras Juveniles and the Ministry of Culture.
The Programme of Support for the Constitution of Ibero-American Music Space IBERORQUESTS Juveniles, is a technical and financial cooperation project to promote musical development, especially among children and youth from medium and small resources and at social risk.
