MiCultura and AMUPA sign Cultural Cooperation Framework Convention

Panama, 8 July 2020. The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the Association of Panama Municipalities (AMUPA) have signed a framework convention for cultural cooperation to coordinate a number of technical actions and to promote, develop, implement and implement programs, projects and artistic, cultural and educational initiatives.

According to this agreement, both entities will put in place structured mechanisms for the implementation of programmes that contribute to the enrichment of national culture by ensuring sustainable human development, accessibility to their cultural rights and the integral development of citizens.

The present agreement was signed by Mr. Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Minister of Culture and Mr. Julio Vives Cogley, President and Legal Representative of AMUPA.

AMUPA, an association with institutional capacity, representing local governments, that guarantees municipal autonomy to promote institutional development in Panama and that every day improves strategies and communications between municipalities, mayors and representatives, and thus provides citizens of a better country.

The actions that MiCultura and AMUPA undertake to conduct include the implementation of artistic, cultural and folkloric programs and activities at national level, improving and increasing the quality of programs and projects advanced by both institutions, organizing seminars, conferences, panels, training, exhibitions, competitions, courses, workshops and others.

Both parties will contribute, within their capabilities, with spaces and locations at national level, especially MiCultura's fine arts schools and schools for activities jointly undertaken, as well as exchange mutual counselling, technical and other services of interest, mutually agreed and contributing to effective compliance with this framework agreement for cultural cooperation.
