< strong > Penonomé will have a new building to elevate arts and culture at the centre of the country < / strong >

With an investment of more than 10 million balboas, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) has been planning to provide the province of Coclé with the Centro de Bellas Artes and Centro Cultural Estelina Tejeira project that will benefit not only the 200 students and teachers of the School of Fine Artes but will also be a great attractiveness within the Penonomé district and the central area of the country.
Students, teachers, parents of today's Center of Fine Arts and Folklore Stelina Tebeira of Penonomé, local authorities of the governorate and of the Ministry of Education (Meduca), as well as civil society represented in Unite by Penonomé, had an opportunity to get to know the project of the new centre, its impact and what are the components and values of its voice by Carlos Him, infrastructure director and Jaime Zárate, architect charged with the conceptualization of the project, both officials of MiCultura.
The participants welcomed the proposal and expressed their satisfaction with the information put forward by officials and expressed their appreciation for this first approach that will give them an understanding of what this project will mean and will focus on training and strengthening artistic and cultural disciplines in Coclé and to other provinces, signifying a powerful cultural exchange between art professionals and students.
The work that will be run by the companies Centro Tejo and Constructora De León will cover an intervention area of 6,817 square metres that will have eight floors, including an area of parking, auditorium, amphitheater, classroom, cafeteria, living areas, library, workshops and conference rooms, toilets, ramps and elevators among other suitable.
The officials explained that the first two levels of the building will house the School of Fine Arts and the rest will be a cultural centre that will be a great opportunity for the development of cultural and creative industries, all artistic initiatives, the promotion of our folklore and other initiatives that promote cultural rights, broadening the range of cultural offer.
In this first approach with the educational community of CEDEBAF Estelina Tejeira, issues such as the alternatives to transferring students and teaching and administrative personnel while they have been employed and the active participation of those involved in the process of architecture and artistic intervention of the new building were discussed.
The first phase will be the development of design and studies (soil, traffic and topography), among them that are necessary for this type of project. The second phase will be the construction of the building with the suggested specifications, equipment and furniture and its respective maintenance manual.
Eby Figueroa, regional director of MiCultura at Coclé, Isaac Melques Quiros, co-Governor of Coclé Province, Isaac Melamed of Civil Society Unite by Penonomé and Marianela Gómez, regional director of the Ministry of Education, were part of the local authorities that participated in this day.
