< strong > Portobelo FESTIVAL CONGOS COGER, pollera, MASSCARES and BALES < / strong >

The 6 May will be held at Portobelo, Colón, the Fest de la Pollera Congo, Mácaras and Bailes de DEN jointly announced the Ministry of Culture (MyCultura), the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) and the Board of Trustees of this festival.

At a press conference, speakers from the organizing agencies noted that the meeting will involve "congos" and "devils" associations from the province of Colón, that they will make presentations in tang, with multicolored suits and their own masks and to complement the activity will have a variety of gastronomic offers with local autochthonous plates.

The dance "To the Devil's Horseback" will be shown as part of this festival and will be attended by 20 groups of devils's dances who have shown their cheerful dances that help preserve our roots and identities.

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué said it's the responsibility of the institution "to safeguard and promote our knowledge and traditions and that it's a privilege to work with the community and mayor of Portobelo, so that our dances and customs will not be lost but will be preserved from generation to generation."

The pollera congo, Mask and Dairy Dances Festival was established by Act No. 41 of 2018.
