They conduct concurrently to highlight winners of the National Prize for Literature Ricardo Miró

"Fomenas de Mujeres Winner del Concurso Ricardo Miro" was the event organized by the University of Panama as part of International Women's Day, with participation of winners from different years and different categories who shared with the audience their experiences and anecdotes by obtaining the highest prize of literary excellence at national level.

Isabel Burgos, Consuelo Tomas, Ela Urriola, Alondra Badano, Moravia Ochoa and Damaris Serrano were part of the main panel of this event where Eduardo Flores, rector of the University of Panama, with his ministers of culture, Giselle González Villarrué gave scammers of recognition to the ladies who have been awarded since 1942 and have been at his start with this contest.

A special mention was made of Stella Sierra, first woman to gain the Miró Prize in the poetry category in 1942. Later, other women outstanding in Panamanian literature such as Gloria Guardia, María Olimpia de Obaldia, Dora Pérez de Zárate, Diana Moran and more.

Rosa María Britton (q.e.p.d), who earned the prize 6 different times in 3 different categories, becoming the woman who most often earned the Miró Prize, was other authors who were outstanding at this emotional event.

The Ricardo Miró literature contest is the oldest contest in Panama with 80 years of creation and currently organized by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) that year after year calls for Panamanian writers to participate in the categories of tale, novel, poetry, theater and essay.
