MiCultura present at the 100th version of the Canajagua Folk Reunion

To preserve, disseminate and promote national folklore customs and traditions, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) supports the 50 edition of the Canajagua Folk Meeting, with an outstanding feature of the "Drama de los Reyes Magos," an activity to be undertaken in the Macaracas District, Province of Los Santos from 4 to 8 January 2023.
Reels parade, matching board, typical dances, mejorana play contest, saloma shouting, quatching, violin night and so forth, are part of what the festival will offer to its visitors, during the four days that the festival will last.
José Gutiérrez, president of the Festival's Board of Trustees, emphasized "that with this massive event we re-activated the province's economy and give citizens an opportunity to observe the traditions and manifestations of national folklore."
For his part Esther Pérez, National Director of Crafts of MiCultura congratulated the members of the patronate, organizers and the community for the 50 years of this event where through his manifestations they have been keeping the traditions alive for the present and future generations.
The Canajagua Folk Meeting and Panamanian Popular Theater of the Drama of Los Santos de los Reyes Mages are the first folk festival to be held at the start of the year, according to Law 98 of 12 November 2013 that declares a national party to the meeting and creates its Board.
