Sellan partnership to enhance and strengthen museums

With a view to strengthening and strengthening the diversity of information available at national level, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the Network of Museums and Visitor Centres of Panama signed a framework convention for cultural cooperation to develop strategies, policies and actions that strengthen management and recognize the diversity of memories and heritage currently occurring in Panama.

The document was signed by the Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué and Amanda Derco Monteza, president of the Museums Network, who have committed themselves to co-ordinating a number of activities as a whole to promote and promote a visit to museums and visiting centers and to promote museum activity in Panama.

The Convention lays down a national register of museums with the aim of providing information and indicators for the development of a national policy of museums aligned with the National Cultural Plan and with development plans and strategies at national and local level.

In this respect, González Villarrué stated that "as soon as the government, civil society and private enterprise come together, better results will be achieved, we will make state and private museums more powerful organisations that better capture the citizen's attention to his or her history with an integral and critical thought every time he or she visits him."

For his part, Amanda Deco emphasized his complacency with this firm, which will support the efforts of each of the managers within museums and we know that this will not be put into a document, we will all guarantee that they will continue to be built to highlight the role of museums.

That firm is the first effort of a number of activities that will be undertaken to disseminate the importance of visiting and familiarize ourselves with our museums and guest centers and that lays down the general parameters for attesting as museums to public and private institutions and the manuals, standards and technical and administrative aspects for its operation, in accordance with international conventions on this matter.
