MiCultura manages protocols for return to activity in the theater sector

Panama, June 17, 2020 -The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) is coordinating actions with government agencies that discuss actions to return to commercial activities within the arts, culture and entertainment sector to assist with the reactivation of creative and cultural industries.

At meetings with theatrical, film production, plastic artists, crafts and bookstores, recommendations have been received for health and biosafety protocols currently being evaluated by the authorities that govern the state of emergency with a view to enabling economic activity to be re-activated as soon as possible.

Minister Carlos Aguilar Navarro explained that as an institution "we are aware of the social and economic impact and impact that have been brought with them by the state of emergency throughout the country, and we are currently working on a number of initiatives that will allow us to come back with the recommendations of the health authorities within the arts, culture and entertainment sector."

The recommendations of protocols and procedures that have been put forward by theatologists for an eventual return to commercial activity have been submitted to the competent authorities, who are currently evaluating the documentation to assess whether these spaces can effectively be opened up at the new normality with the provisions and regulations of the Ministry of Health, who have the final word about them.
