Festivals of the arts, a window to share the talent of our artists

A diversity of cultural proposals have been put forward during the first week of October both the National Meeting of Literature and the Fest Visual Arts, in which the public have been involved with dialogues, exhibitions, workshops, production and other events prepared by the National Directorate of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).

Within the program of "Festivals of the Arts" developed by MiCultura, this weekend the public was able to get to know more about the work of the painters Victor Bruce and Víctor Alvarez, who shared at the Galería de Artes Visuales Juan Manuel Cedeño, about their work, their anecdotes, that inspire them and how they feel about translating amazing images into the canvas.

Víctor Alvarez, an old year's painter and sculptor from Chame, a recent winner of the IPEL's sculpture prize and known in Western Panama for the production of his so-called old year's dolls "explain that his work can be seen" contact with nature, magic realism, as a result of his entrance into the jungle and his search for a natural sanctuary where he can connect with the purtiest of his mother's earth, "as his pictorial work defines.

For his part, Víctor Bruce, a graphic designer, mentioned that platforms such as youtube and his art tutorials have helped him to refine his pictorial technique that he developed after quarantine.

His works highlight his national events as hunger, poverty, children happy by water as well as aspects of our culture and nationality as dames congo, pollera, originally embera, tribute to the homeland among others where the canvas and oil colors added to Bruce's talent end up with images that impact the viewer.

Following with the artistic expressions of Fest visual art at the Delphin Rog of the Albrook Mall Shopping Center, the photographer and digital creator Abner Veltier who exposes his work "Wounaan," a number of photographs that reflect the looks of these native peoples and get the attention of many around the world that they ignore their existence.

Further to these activities, the Anita Villalaz Theater welcomed Rosa García's "Traditional Tales Dule" stage, a university student of theatrical and indigenous guna art, who through narrations, songs and dances caught up with the public, especially the little ones who interacted with the stage and met more about Guna culture.

While on Sunday, Director Dibaidi Ávila gave a tribute to Carlos Francisco Changmarín as part of his centennial with a recital where his children put his voice and charism to his poems.

The exhibitions at the gallery and the activities of the Fest Audiovisual Literature and Arts Reunion will continue up to October 14 to give way to the Club Club Festival, presentations by the Symphony Orchestra and National Ballet, the award of national contest and Ricardo Miró week, as well as the closure of the PROFE, all these activations as part of the Festivals of the Arts.
